Charles Heidsieck Champagne

The colourful and charismatic Charles Camille Heidsieck – aka Champagne Charlie, the man credited with introducing Champagne to the US market – established his eponymous Champagne brand in Reims in 1851. These days, the company that he founded is one of the most respected of the Champagne Grand Marques.

The Brut Réserve is Charles Heidsieck’s calling card. Almost equal parts Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, it is produced with 40% reserve wines with an average of 10 years. The superior quality and finesse found here reaches its high-water mark in the luxury Blanc des Millénaires and Champagne Charlie cuvées.

The Charles Heidsieck Cellars are a UNESCO World Heritage site, comprising more than eight kilometres of galleries carved out of ancient chalk quarries 30m below ground. The house has been run by the Descours family since 2011, with cheffe de cave Elise Losfelt – who succeeded Cyril Brun in 2023 – in charge of winemaking operations.
