Meursault Porusot
Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France
Meursault Porusot (also written as Poruzot, with Le or Les) is a well-regarded Premier Cru vineyard within the Meursault appellation of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyard is blessed with an ideal southerly exposure which, combined with its Jurassic limestone-based soil, produces rich yet elegant bouquet Chardonnays which are persistent on the palate with a fine, mineral core. The best wines of this 11.4ha Premier Cru will cellar well for 10 years or more. Porusot is the diminutive of ‘Porroux’ which is French dialect for ‘stony place’.
There are a large number of highly reputable producers in this Premier Cru. These include Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Domaine Roulot, Domaine Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey and Domaine Francois Mukulski.
