Many growers who previously produced a light Pinot Noir in this Premier Cru have switched to Chardonnay, including Domaine Leflaive. The 2009 vintage offers an appealing nose where notes of butter and cream intermingle with ripe yellow fruit, complemented by a subtle hint of Leflaive’s characteristic smoky, oyster shell flintiness. The palate is delightful, reflecting the expected sweetness and ripeness of the vintage, with stone fruit flavours alongside pineapple, all packed together and uplifted by a touch of citrusy acidity.
