La Tour de By 1970

Château La Tour de By is situated in Bégadan, in the northern reaches of the Médoc. The estate boasts a rich history dating back to the 18th century when it was originally referred to as La Roque de By. Covering a total of 94 hectares, approximately 74 hectares are dedicated to vine cultivation. The vineyard predominantly features 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot, proportions that are reflected in the composition of the Grand Vin. This particular bottle is a rare gem from the 1970 vintage, widely acknowledged as one of the finest of that decade. Characterized by generous yields and the presence of well-ripened tannins, the 1970 vintage gave rise to structured wines with extended ageing potential.
