La Clotte 2005

Château La Clotte 2005 is a mature-vintage, full-bodied red wine from the St-Émilion appellation of Bordeaux. Château La Clotte is an old Saint-Émilion property that was for a long time under the ownership of the Chailleau family but was recently sold to Alain Vauthier of Château Ausone. The 2005 is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. "An exquisite perfume of underbrush, charcoal, kirsch, spice box, chocolate and espresso soars from the glass of this full-bodied claret. With low acidity for the vintage, sweet tannin and a fleshy multitiered mouthfeel, this decadent St.Emilion should last longer than its precocious showing in March suggests." Robert Parker, 2008
