Heitz Cellars is the iconic Napa Valley winery founded in 1961 by Joe and Alice Heitz. It is best known for its single vineyard wines made of Cabernet Sauvignon, and in particular the Martha`s Vineyard wine, the first vintage of which was 1966. The 1988 vintage is still full of energy, complex and beautifully structured. Expect notes of cassis, mint, cedar, tobacco and Indian spices. 1988 was also the year that Heitz Cellars acquired the extraordinary Ink Grade Vineyard atop Howell Mountain.
