Founded at the start of the 20th century, Armand Rousseau is a leading producer in Burgundy, currently managed by Eric Rousseau with the assistance of his daughter Cyriell. The Domaine is based in Gevrey-Chambertin and consists of approximately 15 hectares, over half of which is situated in Grand Cru sites. This release is from the Premier Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques, where Rousseau owns a 0.5-hectare plot. This appellation is usually the last one to be harvested, due to the cool breezes at night, which extend the ripening process of the grapes. The wines tend to be firm and round, marked by notes of red berries and cherries.
