Founded in the 1850s, Domaine Fourrier is a prestigious wine producer based in Gevrey-Chambertin, in the Côte de Nuits. The estate is currently led by Jean-Marie Fourrier, the fifth-generation owner who took over the 10-hectare property from his father in the mid-1990s at the tender age of 23. This particular release comes from Cherbaudes, a Premier Cru vineyard within the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. The wines from this appellation tend to be softer and less concentrated than those from vineyards higher on the hill, but still displaying excellent balance and supple tannins.
