Galia 2018

Fruit for this wine comes from over 50 small parcels of vines – previously neglected vineyards, some even pre-dating phylloxera - very much a labour of love for winemaker Jerome Bougnaud, fourth generation grape grower originally from the Cognac region of France. The grapes are whole cluster fermented before 19 months of ageing in old French oak - produced to organic standards. The wine itself offers notes of subtly smoky oak and ripe blueberry fruit on the nose with a touch of exotic spice and leather. A fresh acidity underpins ripe fruit while the finish is warming.
