Contino Vina del Olivo 2019

Contino Viña del Olivo 2019 is a full-bodied single-vineyard red wine produced in the Rioja appellation of Spain. Only made in exceptionally good vintages, this blend of 85% Tempranillo 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuela comes from a single parcel of old vines on the Contino estate surrounding a 700-year-old olive tree. The soil here is – unique on the property – composed of clay and limestone. This wine was matured in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels (49% new) for 17 months. It displays an abundance of ripe red fruits, noble wood spices and minerals. A powerful yet rounded wine with silky tannins.
