Chateauneuf du Pape Pure Barroche 2020

Domaine de la Barroche Pure Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2020 is a 100% Grenache from some of the oldest vines of the Barroche domaine. A ripe, full-bodied Southern Rhône red wine, the Pure cuvée is typically aged in a combination of large oak foudre and cement tank before being bottled unfiltered. The winemaker has a stylistic preference for wines with an emphasis on finesse rather than power. This is a very limited production bottling - just a single foudre was made in 2020. "A heavenly perfume of black cherries kirsch liqueur roasted garrigue Asian spices liquorice and graphite. This carries to a full-bodied Châteauneuf-du-Pape revealing remarkable elegance and purity ultra-fine tannins perfect balance and a great finish. I`m not sure it has the same level of grandeur as the 2019 but it`s not far off and time will tell.
