Pio Cesare Barolo 1978 is a mature-vintage Nebbiolo red wine from the Barbaresco appellation of Piedmont, northern Italy. Pio Cesare was founded in 1881 by Cesare Pio and is one of the oldest wine estates in the region. The company continues to be owned and run by Cesare Pio`s descendants, five generations on. This bottling harks back to a bygone era for Barolo and comes from the excellent 1978 vintage, which produced an abundance of well-structured, long-lived wines.
