Barolo Cicala Aldo Conterno 2016

In 1969, Aldo Conterno broke away from the family business to establish his own winery in Bussia, Monforte d’Alba. Aldo’s three sons Stefano, Franco and Giacomo now run the winery and continue to produce some of the region’s finest wines from their 25-hectares of prime vineyards. Cicala is a south/south-west facing vineyard with vines that are on average 50 years of age and is renowned for producing highly aromatic and long-lived wines. From the sensational 2016 vintage this once again a brilliant release. It is rich, ripe and beautifully pure, with excellent potential for ageing.
