A.A. Badenhorst is a relatively new wine producer, owned by cousins Hein and Adi Badenhorst. Based in the Swartland region of South Africa, the family-owned estate covers approximately 28 hectares of mostly old bush vines. Kalmoesfontein Red is one of their flagship wines, a fabulous blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. The nose is both floral and spicy, complemented by ripe cherry fruit. The palate reveals well integrated tannins and a slightly savoury edge. Best enjoyed from 2027 onwards.
