Adega Algueira Pizarra 2015 is a single-vineyard Mencia red wine produced in the Ribeira Sacra region of north-west Spain. This wine is named after the slate (`pizarra`) soils of Algueira`s Carballocovo vineyard. Wholebunch fermentation with natural yeasts was followed by maturation for just over one year in oak barrels of different sizes and ages. A complex, textured red with flavours of cured meat, black cherries and Mediterranean herbs.
