La Tâche is a small Grand Cru vineyard in the village of Vosne-Romanée, at the heart of the Côte de Nuits, and is a monopole of the legendary Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The 2004 vintage was reviewed by the Wine Spectator as follows, `A solemn, muscular character emanates from this wine, featuring black currant, licorice and spice aromas and flavors. Compact and firm, this has broad shoulders and sweetness to the fruit. Offers nice tension, ripe tannins and fine length, with a rich, spicy aftertaste.`
