Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Centenaire 300cl 2005

Domaine Les Cailloux was founded in 1954 and has been operated by successive generations of the Brunel family, who quietly produce some of the finest wines in the region. Only produced in the greatest vintages, Cuvée Centenaire represents the pinnacle of their production and is a blend of 80% Grenache from a single vineyard planted in 1889 with the balance from Syrah and Mourvedre. The 2005 is a sublime release of kaleidoscopic complexity, offering up sumptuous notes of red fruits, berry liqueur, wild herbs, smoked meats, liquorice and crushed stones. Full-bodied, voluminous and silky, this is perfect for drinking now but will happily age for another decade.
