Founded in 1918, the 5-hectare estate of Bartolo Mascarello has an illustrious history in Piedmont and is one of the most revered producers in the region. They produce just one Barolo which is an assemblage of their four estate vineyards in Cannubi, Rué, San Lorenzo and Rocche dell’Annunziata. Now under the direction of Maria-Theresa Mascarello, winemaking still remains incredibly traditional, with lengthy maceration, slow fermentation and extended maturation in large oak ‘botti’.
From the warm 2003 vintage, this a highly expressive, perfumed and rich edition that is now approaching its peak.
