In addition to the grand vin, Château Haut-Brion produces this second red wine, which was renamed Le Clarence de Haut Brion with the 2007 vintage. With a classic mature Bordeaux nose of forest floor, leather, tobacco, blackcurrants and some smoke, this rare 1979 bottle is dense, with well-integrated toasty oak and lots of spice. The tannins are supple and refined.
