This is a rare bottle of vintage single malt distilled in 1970 at an undisclosed distillery in Ayrshire, south-west Scotland. The whisky was bottled in 2000 and released independently by Gordon & MacPhail, as part of their ‘Rare Old’ collection. Ayrshire is home to some very prestigious whisky distilleries and it is also the birthplace of Sir Alexander Fleming [1881-1955], best known for discovering the penicillin.
