Screaming Eagle Second Flight 2014
Since 2012, legendary Napa winery, Screaming Eagle, has produced a second wine. The fruit used for Second Flight comes from younger vines and declassified wine that does not make the final blend of the flagship wine. As ever, quality is exceptionally high and quantity is eye-wateringly low, however, this differs significantly from Screaming Eagle as it often contains a higher percentage of Merlot. Indeed, the 2014 is composed of 57% Merlot and 43% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is rich, refined and wonderfully perfumed with notes of spice-dusted plums, black cherry, blueberry pie, forest floor, bay leaf and tobacco.
