Sancerre Grand Chemarin Vincent Pinard 2017

Domaine Vincent Pinard is situated in Bué, at the heart of the Sancerre region, and is a family owned and operated estate with 17 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards. Winemaking is exceptionally traditional with as little intervention as possible and a combination of stainless steel and large-format oak is employed for maturation. This is their top-flight Sauvignon Blanc sourced from vines planted in the 1960s and aged for 24 months in barrels. It is incredibly zippy and fresh yet has wonderful satin-like texture and excellent smoothness. A wonderfully foodie wine, it pairs brilliantly with fresh oysters but also the local Loire Valley goats’ cheeses.
