‘Monçerbal’ is a single-vineyard Mencía red wine from the Bierzo region of north-west Spain. It is produced by Álvaro Palacios and his nephew, Ricardo Perez, who together founded the winery Descendientes de J Palacios in 1998. The wine is known for its fragrant and elegant aromas and is made from grapes grown on a biodynamically farmed vineyard in Villa de Corullón. The vineyard is located on a steep slope facing southeast at an altitude of 700 meters and the soil is a mix of slate, quartz, and marble.
