Domaine des Comtes Lafon, situated in Meursault, is a leading wine producer with holdings in some of the region`s most prestigious vineyards. The domaine is currently led by the fourth-generation family member Dominique Lafon, who took over from his father in the mid-1980s. This particular cuvée is named after an old land registry appellation that was discontinued in 1973. The use of `Désirée` on their labels is legally permitted due to historical precedence, as the domaine has labelled wine from this parcel with the same name since the late 1800s.
