Las Gravas Casa Castillo 2015

Casa Castillo is a premier producer in the beautifully sun-baked region of Jumilla renowned for their exceptional quality wines made from the native local variety, Monastrell (aka Mourvedre). Las Gravas is a blend of 70% Monastrell, 15% Syrah and 15% Garnacha from an incredibly rocky single vineyard, largely whole-bunch fermented in stone tanks and aged for 18 months in 500-litre French oak. The 2015 is rich and refined, yet wonderfully graceful, offering up sweet black fruits and beautifully perfumed scents of wild rosemary and thyme. A superbly well-made wine that would be sublime served with slow roasted shoulder of lamb.
