The Kapcsandy Family Winery is a relative newcomer in Napa but has garnered a remarkable reputation for producing exceptionally high-quality Bordeaux blends from their State Lane Vineyard in Yountville. The Grand Vin is the pinnacle of their production and is produced from the highest quality blocks and from the best barrel lots. The 2009 is a blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with marvellous aromas of cassis, mulberry, wild flowers, liquorice, mocha and exotic spices. It is simultaneously mouth-coating and rich but seamless and elegant. Only 480 cases produced.
