Finca Dofi Alvaro Palacios 500cl 2017

Álvaro Palacios has quickly come to be recognised as one of Spain’s greatest winemakers. With a focus on local varieties from exceptionally old, low-yielding vines, he is consistently crafting some of the country’s finest wines. `Finca Dofi` is mostly Grenache with a small amount of Cariñena from a plot in the village of Gratallops, planted between 1900 and 1940 on a precipitous hillside with typical ‘llicorella’ slate soils. The 2017 is bright and juicy, radiating notes of red cherry, wild Mediterranean herbs, earth and slatey minerality. Svelte and streamlined, with exceptionally fine tannins and a wonderful innate freshness. Sold in hedonistic 500cl format.
