Faugeres Les Bancels Domaine de Cebene 2015

At Domaine de Cébène, Brigitte Chevalier produces characterful and terroir-driven wines from her 11 hectares of organically farmed vines in the region of Faugères, in the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Parc Naturel. Les Bancèls is a blend of four different grape varieties from vineyards specifically selected for their schiste soils. The 2015 is composed of 40% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% each of Mourvèdre and Carignan, and offers up deep and rich notes of blackberry, crème de cassis, plum, lavender and dried herbs. It is medium- to full-bodied, opulent and complex, with immensely satisfying texture, silky tannins and a distinctively cool, mineral-tinged finish.
