Chablis Valmur William Fevre 2009

Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Valmur 2009 is a mature-vintage Grand Cru Chablis from the climat of Valmur. Established in 1959, William Fèvre has emerged as a significant landowner in Chablis, boasting holdings in six out of the seven Grand Cru appellations. Committed to limiting yields, the estate has embraced organic cultivation methods since 2000. This particular release comes from the Grand Cru Valmur, where the estate owns a 1.15-hectare plot. The grapes are harvested by hand and the wine is aged for up to 15 months on fine lees in neutral French oak barrels. "It`s arguable that in 2009 that this is the most elegant and refined wine in the range as the ultra pure and airy white flower, citrus zest, iodine and oyster shell aromas complement to perfection the extremely fresh and silkily textured flavours blessed with ample amounts of acid-buffering dry extract that culminate in an explosive yet harmonious and sophisticated finale with perhaps a bit less youthful austerity than usual.
