Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial Magnum 2011

Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial is arguably the best-known release produced by the traditional Rioja wine estate Marqués de Murrieta. This expression is a Tempranillo-dominant red blend, with a small amount of Mazuelo. The grapes are grown in a 80-year-old vineyard called La Plana and harvested by hand. Prior to bottling, the wine was aged for 28 months in 225-litre American and French oak barrels. Still youthful, the wine offers elegant tannins carrying flavours of dark plums, black cherries, caramel and violets that slowly fade into a soft cherry-pie finish. Presented here in a magnum format.
