Founded in 1818 with the marriage of Nicolas François Billecart to Elisabeth Salmon, Billecart-Salmon is one of the few Champagne houses to remain family-owned, now in its 7th generation.
Most of the grapes used for winemaking come from a radius of 20 km around Epernay.
Cuvée Elisabeth Salmon 2008 is a blend of 55% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne and 45% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. Aged on the lees for ten years and 7g/l dosage. Citrus peel and red berries mingle with sweet spices on the nose following through to a palate with blood orange and apple tart character, concluding on a beautifully citrus finish.
