Roberto Voerzio is considered a ‘modernist’ winemaker in the traditional scene of Barolo. He set up his own ‘cantina’ in La Morra in 1986 and since then has built a world-wide reputation. This magnum of Barbera d’Alba 2004 jumps out from the bottle with layers of black cherries, plums, violets, smoke, crushed stones and sweet toasted oak. It is a restrained wine, yet it offers outstanding purity of expression, with silky tannins that coat the palate. Perfectly mature to be enjoyed now.
