Amrut - which can be translated as ‘nectar of the gods’ - is the first single malt whisky to be made in India. The nose opens to orange and lemon peels, followed by hints of almonds, marzipan, vanilla, with a bit of wood ash and savoury, cured meat. The palate presents a slightly syrupy mouthfeel. The whisky was featured in the book ‘1001 Whiskies You Must Try Before You Die’.
