Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos was established in 1999 in Ribera del Duero, currently one of Spain’s most prestigious wine regions. Aalto is a partnership between Javier Zaccagnini and winemaker Mariano García, who worked at the iconic Vega Sicilia for 30 years. The standard Aalto red wine spends 20 months in oak, 50% of which is new French wood, with the remainder in older French and American barrels. Bottled at 15% ABV, Aalto 2019 is a robust but elegant wine, offering plenty of red fruit notes, complemented by a gentle spiciness.
