Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet is a family-owned wine estate covering approximately 18 hectares under vine. Based in the village of Fixin, the property is run by husband-and-wife team Amélie Berthaut and Nicolas Faure, who together follow ‘lutte raisonnée’ farming, with a strong leaning towards organic viticulture. The fruit for this village-level Vosne-Romanée comes from three parcels, two in Aux Réas and one in Au-Dessus de la Rivière. Berthaut destems the grapes and ferments them gently, mostly pumping over instead of punching down before ageing the wine in oak barrels [33% new].
