Sine Qua Non Mr K Noble Man TBA Chardonnay 2002 is a sweet wine produced from botrytised Chardonnay grapes by Sine Qua Non winery in the Central Coast region of California. Established by husband-and-wife team Manfred and Elaine Krankl in Ventura County in 1994, Sine Qua Non specialises in Rhône-style red and white blends which have developed a cult following among critics and California wine lovers alike. From year to year, Manfred Krankl sources fruit from a wide variety of growers, meaning that the winery`s output is frequently changes. "The 2002 Mr. K The Noble Man (321 grams per litre of residual sugar and 10.25g/l of acidity) is made from 100% botrytised Chardonnay. Its medium gold colour is followed by a wine with honeyed complexity, and huge body, sweetness, and thickness. This effort is never as complex or focused as its siblings, but it is still a phenomenal sweet wine that can stand on its own merits against any great sweet wine made in the world."
