Sine Qua Non Mr K Ice Man Gewürztraminer 2002 is a dessert wine produced from the Gewürztraminer grape variety by the iconic Sine Qua Non winery in the Central Coast region of California. Established by husband-and-wife team Manfred and Elaine Krankl in Ventura County in 1994, Sine Qua Non specialises in Rhône-style red and white blends which have developed a cult following among critics and California wine lovers alike. From year to year, Manfred Krankl sources fruit from a wide variety of growers, meaning that the winery`s output is frequently changes. "The 2002 Mr K The Iceman (made from Gewurztraminer from the Babcock Vineyard) tastes like a wonderfully rich yet crisp beerenauslese with a sweet, honeyed personality, tremendous richness, great delineation, and an amazing finish. These wines look like motor oil, but they possess superb underlying acidity, freshness, and purity. The residual sugar is 272g/l, and the finished alcohol is 12%, all with 7.6g/l of acidity!"
