Château Simard is a 40-hectare vineyard marked by predominantly clay soil mixed with sand and gravel and a deep water table. The estate is currently overseen by Alain Vauthier and has belonged to the same family for seven decades. This magnum bottle is from the 1971 vintage, which produced a small crop but some excellent quality wines, typically very smooth and elegant.
