Since its establishment in 1983, the aim of Peter Michel Winery has been to produce small quantities of elegant, terroir-driven wines in the mould of the very best wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy. L’Esprit des Pavots is the ‘little brother’ wine of their flagship Cabernet blend, Les Pavots and is typically more fruit forward and early-drinking. The 2016 is a deliciously bright and juicy release with wonderful notes of blueberry, black cherry, chocolate, cedar, tobacco and black truffle. It is full-bodied and concentrated, with supple tannins and a long, lingering finish.
