100% Swartland Chenin Blanc, with grapes sourced from a 44-year-old Granite soil vineyard on the Paardeberg and a 40-year-old Schist soil vineyard on Kasteelberg. As a Straw Wine, this is made following a traditional winemaking process whereby the hand-harvested grapes are left to desiccate outdoors in the shade for 16 to 30 days, concentrating the sugars, acids and flavours.
With 8.5% abv and 330g/l residual sugar, the palate reveals complex layers of sun-dried apricots, limes and a distinct pithiness, with saline nuances and an intense velvety mouth feel. Best served chilled at 9 to 11 °C.
