Marchesa Clementina Rose Il Poggione

Il Poggione Marchesa Clementina Rosé is a traditional-method sparkling rosé wine produced in the Montalcino region of Tuscany. Founded in the 1800s, Il Poggione is one of the most historic estates in Montalcino and has been owned in the Franceschi family for five generations. The estate`s reputation for producing some of the best wines in the region was cemented by former winemaker Pierluigi Talenti (1958-1999). Talenti was succeeded by Fabrizio Bindocci, who was in turn succeeded by his own son, Alessandro. The Marchesa Clementina Rosé is an homage to Marchesa Clementina, the grandmother of Leopoldo and Livia Franceschi, current owners of Tenuta Il Poggione, who was a great lover Champagne. "This has a dull salmon-orange colour with aromas of toasted hazelnuts, dried cherries, cantaloupe rind and spices. It`s medium-bodied with creamy bubbles and bright acidity.
