Le Serre Nuove is the second wine of Tenuta dell’Ornellaia conceived to showcase the estate’s excellent quality Merlot and provide a wine that could be drunk slightly earlier. The 2010 is a blend of 45% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon from a cool, late-ripening growing season. Winemaker Axel Heinz described it as “firmly structured and complex, with silky tannins and remarkable aromatic richness.”
