Situated in the village of Vosne-Romanée, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – or simply DRC – is the world-famous wine producer that needs no introduction. The estate is jointly owned by two families, the de Villaine and the Leroy, with Alexandre Bernier in place as head winemaker following the retirement of Bernard Noblet in 2018. DRC has the monopole of two grand cru vineyards, the eponymous Romanée-Conti and La Tâche, which covers 6.06 hectares of old vines. This is a magnificent 3-litre bottle from the 1997 vintage, a year that presented pleasant and attractive red wines from day one.
