La Conseillante 1978

Situated in Pomerol, Château La Conseillante traces its origins back to the mid-18th century when it was under the ownership of local businesswoman Catherine Conseillan. Since 1871, it has been in the hands of the Nicolas family and today it is managed by three brothers, Bertrand, Jean-Valmy and Henri Nicolas.. The estate is situated on predominantly clay-rich soil, with the vineyard planted with 80% Merlot, complemented by 20% Cabernet Franc. The 1978 vintage in Bordeaux held its share of surprises, with Saint-Émilion shining brightly, and Pomerol yielding particularly opulent and fruit-forward wines.
