This is a superb bottling of American rye whiskey with a secondary maturation in an ex-Sauternes barrel. The nose offers up sweet notes of peaches in syrup and dried apricot, balanced against a more savoury spicy note akin to fresh rye bread. The palate is multi-layered, with zaps of rye tempered by fruity notes from the wood, flavours of marmalade, dark chocolate, pineapple and black pepper.
