Consolation is a portfolio of wines created by Englishman Andy Cook and business partner Philippe Gard in the Languedoc-Roussillon. The range is intended to reflect the best of each vintage, and changes from year to year. The 2019 ’Dog Strangler’ is a robust 100% Mourvèdre from their Coume del Mas vineyard. The wine is meaty and full-bodied, with intense aromas of dark fruits, violets and herbaceous notes of black pepper, thyme and red meat. A perfect accompaniment to côte de boeuf with chips, wild boar and mushroom-based dishes.
