Consolation Dog Strangler Mourvedre 2014

Consolation are a small winery based in the Roussillon producing distinctive and characterful wines of exceptional quality from both estate-grown and purchased fruit. The Dog Strangler is made from 100% Mourvèdre from the Coume del Mas vineyard planted on the schist soils of AOP Collioure. The 2014 is bold and richly flavoured, offering up notes of wild blackberry, plum, liquorice, saddle leather and peppery spice. Superbly well balanced and with admirable finesse, this is a brilliant food wine, pairing particularly well with intensely flavoured meats such as game birds or wild boar.
