Founded in 1815, Cockburn’s is now part of the Symington Family stable and is well-known for producing Port with superb balance of power and elegance. The 2017 is, once again, a wonderful release and is composed of mostly Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca with lesser portions Sousão and Alicante Bouschet. Marginally more approachable in youth than the 2015 or 2016, this is still an immensely muscular and tightly wound wine that will require considerable time in the cellar for its true potential to shine through.
