Cirsion Bodegas Roda Magnum 2010

Bodegas Roda is one of the newest wineries in Rioja and very much represents the modern side of the region, favouring short maturation times versus more traditional extended barrel ageing. Cirsion was first released in 1998 and is a vineyard and barrel selection of 100% Tempranillo aged for 8 months in French oak and a further 4 months in bottle. The 2010 is exceptionally deep in colour and offers up supremely concentrated aromas of black fruits, liquorice, wild herbs and earth. Full-bodied and intense on the palate, the perfectly ripe tannins and keen acidity are wonderfully judged, ensuring effortless balance of power and elegance.
