2017 was a vintage affected by frost and Château Cheval Blanc was one of the elite Saint-Émilion estates with the most reduced yields thus resulting in the final blend being comprised of 56% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc and an unusually high 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Nonetheless this is an impressive release with excellent fruit intensity, fineness of tannin and effortless freshness.
